Behind The Scenes w/Micheleine's Alicia Keys Review

the MGM Foxwood's, Ledyard, CT

(by Micheleine)

March 14th, 2010 is a date that I will never forget. Why? Because I got to see one of my favorite entertainers, Ms. Alicia Keys.

The show opened up with Grammy-Award nominee, Melanie Fiona. I've seen this young lady before in concert and she was fantastic. Her set was very entertaining and she performed some of my favorite songs such as "Ay Yo" and "It Kills Me".

After the warm-up performance, the main event had started. Alicia came out on the smokey stage in a cage accompanied with her 3 background dancers. She came out in a military jacket with a black shimmery tank underneath with black leggings and black open-toed high heels singing "Love is Blind", a song from her latest CD, "The Element of Freedom". The singer then broke out of the cage and begin singing songs from her previous CDs and danced with her dancers.

At one moment, Ms. Keys played a piano with the words "PLAY ME" and "THANK YOU" on them in LCD lights. The singer then pumped the crowd up with her hit, "No One", which is off her "As I Am" CD. The artist then changed into a beautiful white dress and ended the concert with "Empire State of Mind", a song in which she is usually accompanied by rapper Jay-Z. This concert was one that I will never forget and I pray that God will bless me with the opportunity to go to another very soon.
